Napping is important for babies. In fact, that’s typically what they should do aside from eating. To promote safe and quality sleep for the little one, here are the tips to remember for when the baby is sleeping at home or the child development center:
- Pillow
The most important thing you have to do to ensure that the little one can sleep safely is to choose the right pillow. Choose a pillow that isn’t too big and one that is firm and comfortable. It’s also better to choose hypoallergenic pillows. - Crib location
Experts highly recommend to set up a crib for the little one for their first 6 months. This is to lower the risk of SIDS. Also, you shouldn’t bed-share with your baby up until 12 months for safety and convenience. - Bedding
Whether it’s at home or the day care in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the child’s bed should be cleared of any bedding that increases the risk of suffocation. Bedding products such as stuffed animals and blankets must not be in your child’s sleeping area until they’re 18 months old. - Sleeping position
Up until the child is about 12-18 months old, the little bundle of joy should be placed on their back when sleeping. And it’s okay if the child is the one who repositions themselves onto their side or stomach.
